Grammostola aureostriata

"Socrates"

 

07/03/2006: Male placed in female's enclosure, but appeared hesitant.  Female wandered outside of enclosure and male was placed outside of enclosure.  Mating took place outside of both enclosures.  No insertions witnessed.  Together approximately 2 minutes.

11/04/2006:  Male placed in female's enclosure.  Male drummed.  Female moved in direction of male.  Drumming lasted several minutes.  As male was walking towards the female's sides, the female attacked the male, immediately killing him.
