Brachypelma vagans Mexican Red-Rump Brachypelma albopilosum, native to Mexico and Central America, while skittish, is another great beginner's species. Solid black with red setae on the opisthosoma, this species is striking and impressive. Spiderlings grow quickly and are readily available in the hobby. Dry substrate, a water dish, and a hide will serve this species well. Adults can reach up to 6" in legspan.
