Ventral Sexing Gallery

Ventral sexing, with practice, can help you to determine what sex your tarantula is.  Of course, the most reliable and accurate way of sexing is to wait until the tarantula molts and examine the exuvia for the presence of spermathecae and/or uterus externus.

This page will offer examples of both male and female specimens from the ventral side.  All sex of all specimens listed here has been confirmed with an exuvia.
