Tarantulas I created this section of my site as a resource of basic tarantula husbandry and to share my experiences with different species. I intend to keep the site updated with new information and photos on a regular basis. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or comments.
News / Updates 5/20/2006 - New additions - 0.1.0 Homeomma sp. "Blue" and 0.1.0 Nhandu carapoensis, added new photos of H. gigas and P. pulcher 5/12/2006 - New additions - 0.0.2 Holothele sp. "Norte de Santander" 5/07/2006 - Opened A. versicolor sac - most eggs dried up - Breeding Report updated 5/06/2006 - Added new photos of A. atrox, A. crinirufum, and H. incei 5/05/2006 - New additions - 1.0.0 Brachypelma vagans and 0.0.1 Scolopendra polymorpha 4/30/2006 - Updated Psalmopoeus irminia breeding report - "Kelvin" 4/05/2006 - New additions - 0.0.3 Metriopelma sp. "Venezuela" 3/29/2006 - Added pictures of Nhandu carapoensis , Ephebopus murinus, and Phormictopus cancerides. 3/24/2006 - A. versicolor sac discovered! 3/22/1006 - P. irminia egg sac eaten 3/15/2006 - P. irminia sac discovered a few weeks ago with plans to remove soon. Just added new pictures of A. huriana, C. elegans, and Cyriocosmus sp. "Venezuela." 2/20/2006 - Added new section, "Frequently Asked Questions," that addresses several questions for new hobbyists. Also added "For Sale" section, which will be updated with any tarantulas that I am currently selling. 2/1/2006 - New addition - A. huriana 1/28/2006 - Mated A. versicolor! 5" female with male on loan. Everything seemed to go well and mate was left to cohabitate with female for a few days. 1/22/2006 - Added new section, "For the Beginner," with a table outlining popular beginner species. 1/16/2006 - Added new photos of Holothele shoemakeri and Avicularia sp. "Isla Margarita" and added new section - "Spanish Orange Isopods" 1/14/2006 - Updated "Housing" section to include information on heating and humidity. 1/5/2006 - New addition - B. emilia, "Euclid" 12/29/2005 - P. irminia mated! 5" female mated with a male on loan. Everything appeared to go well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a sac in the not-too-distant future. 12/26/2005 - C. elegans molted! I've been nervous about this one since it's so tiny, but I'm beginning to feel a lot better. It looks to be about 0.25" now and I think I may even be able to see some coloration on the carapace!
